Hi, I'm Chris!
Gesture of the Courageous Heart
Life explorer, sea seeker, mountain peaker and forest keeper. Sports Scientist - Movement Therapist - Mindful Outdoor Guide. A human. Being.
Curiosity, clarity and joie de vivre are values that Christina Eggenschwiler particularly resonates with.
Her career as a movement professional and therapist started with a certification as a Pilates instructor with art of motion—contemporary movement education 1 in 2006 during her studies at the University of Bern. To this day, she is part of the educator team, has gone through the formation as Anatomy Trains in Motion educator and teaches Pilates Anatomy. In 2010 she completed her Master of Science in Sports Science.
In 2008, a study semester in Canada opened the doors to the practices of yoga, which lead to her first 500 hrs certification 2011-2014. Eventually, she stopped counting the several thousand hours of further training with various advanced professionals and of teaching group classes, personal trainings and prospective teachers.
Over the last 12 years she has been offering retreats, teaching workshops, organizing as well as teaching for festivals and leading teacher trainings. Since 2014 she is in the organizing team of Guerilla Yoga Bern 1, a non-profit charity project. In 2014 she founded Yoga Festival Bern 1, which took place until 2017—and may revive! Since 2019 she is an association board member of Friends of Saanenwald 1 and responsible for the department “meditation and yoga”.
As she continues to grow and expand her practice of yoga, self-inquiry, and movement, her contributions to the community continue to evolve. Through her openness to modalities outside the "yogic" realm, she constantly finds a new appreciation for the human body, the mind and the soul, for their interplay and union.
Chris is in ongoing training for a Certificate in Advanced Studies (CAS) in Movement and Sports Therapy with modules in oncology, heart disease, mental illness and more. She also likes to complement her science-based and practical trainings with an interest in energy work and holds a Reiki 1st level certificate with Reikigarden 1 since 2021 (to be continued).
She is convinced that consistent movement practices, preferably in nature, combined with conscious breathing and meditative elements, have holistic healing effects on our health. And that that in the process of these practices the subtle, as well as the strong and humorous qualities of a person unfold.
Receive daily inspirations for yoga and exercise, health tips, and educational content on Christina's Instagram 1 feed and find her in person in a regular group classes or private lessons, in retreats and at events. Check out her schedule and sign up—she would love to meet you!
